Met Mast Design

Four ground anchors are required to secure the eight guys supporting the aluminium met mast.  The ground anchors used are generally of the duckbill type, which are driven into the ground using either a manual drive rod or a breaker.

Alternatively, depending on soil conditions, helical screw-in anchors or rock pins may be used.
Whichever anchor type is used, they are individually load tested after installation with a calibrated load cell to ensure that they meet the British Standard requirements
